How to add a scramble

If you wish to list a route but find that it has already been listed then you can write a review on the route by clicking "review this route" below or next to each route where you can add any further information about the route that you like.

When you wish to post a route that has no location listed under the category i.e. “Scrambles in Scotland” then please create the location first by clicking the “Add Location” link in the right menu. Once you have done this you are then able to list your scramble in that location. All new locations created are automatically created and no approval by our administrators is needed.

All routes listed by you and other members have to be approved by us. We do this to check for spelling errors, incorrect or misleading information and to format the text into an esthetical style.

Route Information

When listing a route please provide as much information about the route as possible, such as the approach, where the route starts, route conditions, hazards, duration of the scramble and the descent. All these attributes will make the information more informative not just to you and I but for other visitors that may wish to scramble your listed route.

When your listed route has been approved you will receive a confirmation email that will tell you whether your route has been accepted or not.
Photos in listings

We allow the listing of one photo for each route. Please try to post the most informative photo you have. By this we mean perhaps a photo of the entire route if you are able to  or a picture that shows a particular section or interest. Below are examples of two photos, one of which we will approve.

Rejection of routes

UK Scrambles can and will reject the submission of routes if they are deemed unreliable or contain an inadequate amount of information and or a poor photo that shows very little information on the route.  This will be done before the route is approved.

We do this because other members who wish to post the same route could provide a more accurate and informative route listing. It is nothing personal.
To ensure your route is accepted take a little time over it and write as much information as you can remember, the best way to list a route would be to list your scramble  within a day or two of actually doing it, while it is still fresh in your mind.
